Made-to-order tailoring works differently from buying a size off a rail. Here is what that means in practice.
- Do I need to measure myself?
- No. You never touch a tape measure. UNSTRCT FIT asks a short series of plain questions — your height, your weight, what you normally wear, how your body is built and how you want the suit to fall — and we work from that.
- Which size do I choose?
- None. There is no jacket size or trouser size to pick on the product page. You choose the suit, the colour and the cloth. The fit is determined afterwards, through UNSTRCT FIT.
- Is my suit made specifically for me?
- Yes. Every UNSTRCT suit is made to order. Nothing is cut before you have confirmed your fit, and every single order is reviewed and approved by a person here before it is released for production.
- Why doesn't the site show me a calculated jacket size?
- Because publishing a number we cannot yet verify against approved graded pattern data would be dishonest. We show your usual size back to you as a reference point only, and we review your fit by hand. When our pattern data is finalised, the fit summary will state the actual garment specification.
- Can I order right now?
- Payments are not connected yet, so no order can currently be placed or paid for. You can build your fit and save it — it stays on your account and will be waiting when ordering opens.
- When are shoes and ties available?
- They are designed and published, but not manufactured yet. They are marked coming soon for exactly that reason. We will not take money for something that does not physically exist.
- What if the suit doesn't fit when it arrives?
- Write to us. Because the suit was cut for you, the first step is always a conversation rather than a form — we look at what is off, and we correct it. Our made-to-order terms set out your rights in full.
- Can I have it altered locally?
- Yes, and for small adjustments that is often the fastest route. Speak to us first, though: some corrections are better made in the pattern than in the finished garment.
- How should I care for the suit?
- Air it, brush it, and dry-clean it as rarely as possible. The care page sets out what actually extends the life of relaxed tailoring.
- Do you keep my body information?
- We keep the answers you gave to UNSTRCT FIT on your account, so that you can reorder without repeating them, and so we can cut correctly. You can see them and ask us to delete them at any time.
